Starving student robs convenience store

A 22-year-old university student was arrested yesterday (March 20, 2019) and charged with robbing a 7-Eleven store in the central Thai province of Nakhon Sawan, Sanook.com reported.

Wearing a hood with a machete in his hand, the student made off with 5,400 baht, which he used to buy food and pay rent.

The young man said he had been eating plain cooked rice for a week and the owner of his rented room told him to pay the rent in three days.

“I did not know what to do, so I took a bus to rob the convenience store in town,” he said. “I am sorry for what I did.”
