An elderly roadside somtam vendor was hit by a van and killed while crossing a road to buy ingredients in Rayong’s Klaeng district on Tuesday night, police said.
The accident happened at 8.30pm on a main road in Moo 14 village in Tambon Krasae Bon. The victim was identified as Iam Sripraison, 60. His daughter told police that the man was crossing the road to buy ingredients for his somtam dishes when he was hit by a van.
The van driver, Pisit Bamrungsuan, 63, told police that he was frightened when he suddenly saw a man crossing in front of him, and he was unable to stop in time. P1 – EP
