Police are investigating the use of drugs for an alleged gay sex tryst at a doctor’s luxury condominium in Bangkok that led to the death of a teenager.
The 18-year-old victim was one of two guests at the condo and fell from the balcony on the 20th floor. He was found wearing only a G-string.
Thong Lor Police Station deputy inspector-general Pol Captain Thanaboon Nasawas received the report on the death at 3.30pm on Saturday. The station’s superintendent, Pol Captain Nitiwat Sansing, then led a team to the scene to gather evidence.
“After we checked CCTV recordings, we found that the victim had entered the condo building with two older men. They went to the 20th floor,” Nitiwat said.
When police knocked on the door of the condo, they found two frightened men inside. Both reportedly told police that they and the victim had met up for sexual activities and had decided to use crystal meth-amphetamine as a prelude. They insisted that the victim got intoxicated and fell off the balcony. Police did not see any signs of conflict in the room.
They reportedly found nine grams of crystal meth-amphetamine at the scene.
Police have now charged both men, aged between 30 and 35 years old, for being in possession of an illicit drug. The ongoing investigation will also determine whether they had caused the victim’s death.
An informed source said one of the suspects was a 32-year-old doctor who worked in the beauty field.
