The Thai Foreign Ministry says that seven more of Thai bodies killed in Israel will arrive at Suvarnabhumi international airport on Thursday afternoon.
In the attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7 or since, 34 Thai people have died, and 24 are still captive in Gaza. Four more are in the hospital.
Yesterday, Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara said that the 24 hostages are being held in different places by two or three terrorist groups, including Hamas.
He said that if the Thai prisoners were freed, they should be let go through a safe corridor at the border with Egypt. Thai officials should be able to go with the hostages from Gaza, as the Thai government has already told the Egyptian government.
Based on his talks with his peers in Qatar, Iran, and Egypt last week, Parnpree said it’s likely that the Thai hostages will be the first ones freed.
Another thing he said was that other Thai groups have also been using their own ties to try to get the Thai hostages freed.
One of these groups is linked to Thai Muslim House Speaker Wan Muhamad Noor Matha. They went to Iran, which is thought to have power over Hamas.
