Pol. Col. Sathit Samanaphap, Superintendent of the 5th Traffic Police Division, and Pol. Lt. Col. Kiattiporn Sawatthep, Superintendent of the 2nd Traffic Police Division, 5th Traffic Police Division, jointly arrested Mr. Chetthakon (surname withheld), aged 24. He faces charges of “making, producing, possessing, importing, or allowing the import or export of obscene documents, paintings, prints, colored pictures, images, etc., or any other obscene items for commercial purposes for distribution or display to the public, importing obscene data into a computer system, etc.” The evidence included four mobile phones without SIM cards, one mobile phone used for transmitting internet signals, one mobile phone with the Line system used for sending obscene images and videos, two tablets storing obscene clips, and several other items. The arrest occurred on the side of Phahonyothin Road, Wang Phrao Subdistrict, Ko Kha District, Lampang Province.
While officers were setting up a checkpoint to enforce traffic discipline, they found Mr. Jessadakorn riding a Honda motorcycle without a license plate. He looked suspicious, so they signaled for him to stop the motorcycle for inspection. They discovered a suspicious communication device. Upon opening the data, they found many obscene video clips, leading to his arrest.
Investigation revealed that Mr. Jessadakorn recorded a video clip of himself having sex with a young woman he met through the X application (Twitter). He saved the clip on his mobile phone, edited it, and posted it on the X application (Twitter), inviting interested people to watch the full version of the pornographic video clip by contacting him via Line and transferring the membership fee to his bank account. Mr. Jessadakorn admitted to adding people to Line groups A (160 members), B (251 members), C (204 members), and D (257 members), each with a membership fee of 100-200 baht. He earned about 10,000 baht per month, which he used for travel, renting a bedroom, and paying the women he had sex with.
The investigation of the four Line groups revealed many obscene video clips, which were seized as evidence. The suspect was taken to Ko Kha Police Station for further legal action.
