In response to news about their operations in Bangkok, the tourism police have denied that there are Chinese beggars in Pattaya. On the evening of November 20, local reporters surveyed the city and discovered no evidence of the Chinese beggars, who are alleged to have taken advantage of the generosity of both tourists and residents.
Though street performers have long been a problem in Pattaya, the reporters did see a few local beggars in various locations of the city. According to the authorities, they have been keeping an eye on and controlling the street acts, which frequently result in issues with noise and traffic.
In control of the area, the tourism police stated they have not heard of any complaints or reports of Chinese beggars in Pattaya. They said that in order to protect visitors’ safety and comfort, they had sent out officers to patrol and examine the city. According to the police, they are committed to keeping Pattaya free of anything that can damage the island’s reputation as a well-liked travel destination.
