Na Jomtien police have apprehended a trio of Thai individuals, including two siblings, accused of pilfering a motorcycle from a former Marine in Sattahip. The arrest occurred today at 2 PM, June 10th, 2024.
The incident unfolded when Mr. Kittidet Thotsaking, a 24-year-old ex-Marine stationed at the Sattahip Naval Base, reported the theft of his Honda Wave 125 motorcycle from outside his residence in Eua Arthorn Village, Na Jomtien sub-district, Sattahip district, Chonburi province, on June 8th.
Promptly responding, authorities launched an inquiry, scrutinizing CCTV footage capturing a male-female duo arriving on a Honda MSX motorcycle at the scene. The male suspect proceeded to pull Mr. Kittidet’s motorcycle from the parking area, with the female accomplice steering the MSX. The pair then fled the premises.
Following leads, police traced the stolen motorcycle to Mr. Animit Phutphongsai, 37, who allegedly bought it from the suspects for 3,000 baht. Mr. Animit was apprehended, leading authorities to the two culprits, later identified as Ms. Phanitta, 25, and Mr. A (identity withheld), a 16-year-old minor.
Ms. Phanitta and Mr. A, identified as siblings, confessed to the theft, claiming their original intention was to siphon gasoline but escalated to stealing the vehicle upon finding it unlocked, citing financial desperation and unemployment.
Currently held by Na Jomtien police, the siblings and their buyer await legal proceedings while the recovered motorcycle has been returned to its rightful owner.
