Police arrest drug dealer supplying to nightclubs

Police in Pattaya apprehended a Thai drug dealer suspected of supplying illegal substances to local nightclubs, following a successful operation on Thursday, June 27 at 10.05 pm based on a tip-off regarding the suspect’s intended drug drop in Soi Thepprasit 7.

The individual in question, identified as Sittichai Sapsawat (also known as Bank), aged 30, was spotted by law enforcement officers arriving on a Yamaha Fino motorcycle. Observing him placing a package under a wooden pole that was later discovered to contain ecstasy and Happy Five pills concealed in a black mask, the police swiftly moved in to make the arrest. During questioning, Sittichai admitted his involvement in drug distribution.

Disclosing that an unidentified superior instructed him to position drugs for collection by agents who would subsequently circulate them to various nightspots in Pattaya, Sittichai also confessed to depositing another package containing narcotics under a power pole in Soi Sukhumvit Pattaya 66, approximately 4 to 5 kilometers away.

Accompanied by the authorities, Sittichai led them to the additional location where they discovered a cache of ecstasy, ketamine, and Happy Five pills. A search of his residence in Na Jomtien uncovered a substantial quantity of illicit substances, including ecstasy, ketamine, Erimin-5 pills, methamphetamine, and “happy water,” a blend of synthetic components like MDMA, methamphetamine, diazepam, and ketamine in powdered form. These substances were concealed in a cooler box alongside weighing scales and multiple empty drug packets.

Further evidence came to light in the form of a notebook outlining Sittichai’s drug-related transactions, documenting a roster of more than 20 buyers alongside daily sales revenue ranging from 5,000 to 8,000 baht.

Sittichai faced charges related to possession of category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine, “happy water”) with intent to distribute, possession of category 2 narcotics (ecstasy, ketamine, Erimin-5) with intent to distribute, as well as driving under the influence of category 1 narcotics.

Subsequent investigative efforts resulted in the arrest of his associate Saran Rotsakul (also known as Neng) in Soi Sukhumvit 91. When approached by undercover officers, Saran was caught red-handed with 1,400 methamphetamine pills and 200 grams of methamphetamine in his possession, leading to his immediate custody as reported by Pattaya News.
