Pattaya Woman Reports Assault and Drugging by Foreigner After Meeting on Dating App
PATTAYA, Thailand – A 30-year-old woman, identified as Ms. Fa (a pseudonym), has reported a harrowing assault to Pattaya police, alleging that a foreign man physically abused, drugged, and sexually assaulted her after they met through a dating app.
Incident Details
The attack occurred on March 18, leaving Ms. Fa deeply traumatized and fearful. She told police that she had recently arrived in Pattaya in search of work and had accepted a 500-baht cleaning job at the man’s condominium.
At first, everything appeared normal, but soon after she began cleaning, the foreigner’s behavior changed. He forced her to undress, claiming she was sweating and needed to wear a maid’s costume he had prepared.
Assault and Forced Drug Use
The situation escalated when the man physically attacked her, hitting her in the stomach, and forcing her to take methamphetamine. He then made unwanted physical advances and offered her more money in exchange for intercourse.
When Ms. Fa resisted, he became aggressive, shouting and behaving erratically while continuing to use drugs himself. He also refused to let her leave the apartment.
Escape and Police Report
Fearing for her life, Ms. Fa devised a plan to escape. She pretended to agree to his demands and suggested they shower together. Once he was distracted, she managed to flee the apartment and return to her room.
Initially hesitant to report the assault due to the fear of drug-related repercussions, she consulted with friends and later decided to file a police report.
Police Investigation Underway
Following her complaint, Pattaya City Police have coordinated with Tourist Police and investigators to gather evidence and track down the suspect. Authorities are actively pursuing the case to bring him to justice.
Ms. Fa has also issued a warning to women using dating apps, urging them to be cautious and not to trust strangers too easily, as encounters could lead to dangerous consequences like her own.
