Pattaya Police Seize Large Cache of E-Cigarettes in Sting Operation

Pattaya City Police, led by Pol. Col. Anek Sa-thongyoo, conducted a sting operation on March 20, 2025, at 11:00 PM, targeting the illegal sale of electronic cigarettes. The operation resulted in the arrest of 45-year-old Mr. Chaiwut, who was caught selling e-cigarettes.

Authorities seized a significant amount of contraband, including 78 disposable fruit-flavored e-cigarettes and 13 fruit-flavored e-liquid pods, with an estimated total value of 31,000 baht.

The crackdown aligns with a government directive aimed at curbing the illegal trade of e-cigarettes. As part of this policy, law enforcement agencies have been gathering intelligence on individuals involved in distributing these products. Acting on a tip, undercover officers conducted a controlled purchase at a shop in Soi Kaset Sin 9, leading to the suspect’s arrest.

Mr. Chaiwut and the confiscated items have been handed over to investigators, and he now faces legal proceedings for his involvement in the illicit trade.
