Pattaya City is gearing up for the “Chonburi International Music Festival in the Rain,” set to showcase top Thai artists and offer vibrant food experiences this September.
On September 6th, 2024, Pattaya’s Deputy Mayor, Mr. Krisana Boonsawat, led a preparatory meeting for the festival, joined by Mr. Somchai Chomphunoi, Director of the Eastern Region, and officials from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
The TAT has highlighted that the festival is a key component of the “Enchanting Thailand” initiative. Attendees can look forward to live performances and concerts featuring over 50 prominent Thai artists across various music genres. The festival aims to draw both international and domestic tourists to Pattaya, boost local spending, and position Chonburi as a premier music festival destination. Additionally, the event will offer hundreds of food stalls with fresh seafood, regional delicacies, and beverages, reflecting the unique culinary offerings of the Eastern region.
Set against the backdrop of Thailand’s rainy season, the festival will run from September 20th to 22nd and September 27th to 29th, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Pattaya Beach. It will feature three stages: the Main Stage (Soi 6), the Jazz & Chill Stage (Hard Rock Hotel), and the Dance Stage (Soi 9).
The meeting addressed several support needs, including permits for sound, fireworks, and drones; portable restrooms; clean water trucks; city officials for event monitoring and vendor organization; medical teams with ambulances; water rescue teams; traffic barricades; cleaning staff; additional city officials or volunteers; VIP and artist parking; and tourist parking areas.
The importance of ensuring tourist safety, effective emergency response, traffic management, and adequate parking was emphasized, with a suggestion to review the proximity of the stage locations for better logistical coordination.
