Thailand is experiencing a rise in the number of flights from China, according to Thai transport authorities, albeit the numbers are still below pre-pandemic levels.
According to the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (AEROTHAI), a total of 12,805 flights were conducted between Thailand and China between October 2022 and April of this year, representing a rise of 98% from the same time period the previous year.Nopasit Chakpitak, president of AEROTHAI, has stated that China’s early-year optimization of its pandemic policy has resulted in greater demand for flights and higher aircraft frequencies linking the two nations.
Nopasit observed that this year’s increase in flights between China and Thailand, which increased from 1,063 in January to 4,240 in April, has been steady.In the upcoming months, AEROTHAI predicts more flights from China, forecasting over 7,000 flights in the months of July, August, and September, he continued.
In a statement, AEROTHAI predicted that more than 46,000 flights will take place between October 2022 and September 2023, which is still 66% less than during the same time in 2019.
