Fifteen homes in two sub-districts of Nong Khai’s Tha Bor district were damaged in a storm on Tuesday evening, said Lt Sarawuth Parasri from the Nong Khai Peace and Order Maintaining Command.
Sarawuth joined other soldiers and administrative officials in inspecting the storm damage as to provide initial aid to Ban Don Khom in Tambon Ban Dua.
Villager Chokchai Thamwongsa, 54, whose two-storey house’s roof was blown away, walls ripped through and hit by a falling tree, said he and his bed-ridden mother had fortunately sought refuge elsewhere.
Besides Chochai’s village, where 13 homes were damaged, two other houses in Tambon Na Kha were also affected, the authorities said.
