Pattaya City Police received a report of an incident involving a rental property on Soi Naklua 27. Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officers, along with local police and the Pattaya News team, rushed to the scene after discovering an object resembling a gold-colored hand grenade inside one of the rooms. The item was carefully removed to the front of the rental complex and secured with rubber wheels for safety. The area was cordoned off, causing concern among nearby residents.
The landlord, Mr. Yossiri Thiraphong, 50, explained to police that he was cleaning the room after a Myanmar tenant had vacated when he found the grenade-like object in a wardrobe. Alarmed, he quickly fled and called the authorities.
Upon investigation, the EOD determined that the object was a fake hand grenade filled with flammable gunpowder, which posed no explosive threat. Law enforcement officials are now working to identify the former tenant, aiming to interview him about the unusual item he left behind.
