Nigerian Man Arrested for Motorcycle Theft in Chumphon

CHUMPHON, Thailand – A 26-year-old Nigerian man was arrested in Muang district on Saturday morning after causing chaos in front of a convenience store, only to be later identified as a suspect in a motorcycle theft case.

Tourist police responded to a disturbance at the Home Fresh store in Tambon Na Thung, where a foreign tourist was reportedly damaging property. Upon arrival, officers found the man, later identified as Motasem Al Manaseer, behaving erratically and giving conflicting statements. Concerned for his condition, they contacted local police, who took him to a hospital for observation.

Shortly after, authorities in Chaiya district requested assistance in apprehending a foreign national involved in a motorcycle theft. The suspect’s description matched Al Manaseer, leading to his arrest.

Police recovered the stolen motorcycle, along with 16 other stolen items hidden in the vehicle. The suspect was transferred to Chaiya Police Station for further legal proceedings.
