A mother hanged herself on Tuesday night apparently out of anger that her son had refused to pick her up from the Nakhon Nayok provincial hospital, police said.
Pol Captain Pongnara Mawongnok, deputy inspector of Ban Na police station, was alerted about the suicide at 8pm and police went to a house in Moo 2 village in Tambon Srika-ang in Nakhon Nayok’s Ban Na district.
Sunan Deethong, 56, the owner of the house, hanged herself with a nylon rope, Pongnara said.
Her son, Surat Deethong, 33, said he had a quarrel with his mother after she called him to pick her up from the provincial hospital, but he sent his sister-in-law to get her instead.
Surat said his mother would not listen to his explanation that he was busy fixing his motorcycle, so he threw his mobile phone to the ground in front of the house and walked inside. He noticed that his mother did not enter the house after a long while, so he came out to the front to check and found that she had hanged herself.
