Minimum wage hike to 400 baht takes effect

Yesterday marked the commencement of this year’s second daily minimum wage rise to 400 baht, according to deputy government spokesman Karom Polpornklang. Additionally, a 10% increase in salaries for state officials is scheduled to take effect on May 1.

Polpornklang specified that the latest wage adjustment pertains to employees at upscale hotels and resorts with a minimum of 50 staff, situated in provinces including Bangkok, Krabi, Chon Buri, Chiang Mai, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phangnga, Phuket, Rayong, Songkhla, and Surat Thani.

He emphasized that workers eligible for the revised wage should report any non-compliance by their employers to the Labour Ministry. This directive was officially sanctioned on March 26.
