Mayor Poramase Ngampiches of Pattaya took personal initiative to report and seek the arrest of two teenagers who were identified for spray-painting graffiti on public property at the Bali Hai Pier.
In a Facebook update on March 13th, Mayor Poramase shared images of himself reviewing CCTV footage that clearly captured the two individuals defacing cabinets, benches, poles, and walls at the pier. He emphasized the harmful impact of such actions on public property in terms of damage and cleanliness.
The CCTV recordings from March 12th, recorded at 9:00 PM, showed the two teenagers, one dressed in black and the other in purple, committing the vandalism. Subsequently, the mayor handed over the footage to the local Pattaya authorities and formally submitted a report against the two suspects.
Mayor Poramase highlighted the growing concern of graffiti incidents in Pattaya, with a reported nine cases occurring recently. In his statement, he called upon both residents and tourists to show respect towards the city’s attractions, urging them to refrain from engaging in graffiti or any illegal activities that tarnish the beauty of Thailand’s tourist destinations.
