Manchester United are expressing interest in an emerging star currently shining at Euro 2024, who Sir Jim Ratcliffe has previously signed.
Swiss winger Dan Ndoye, currently playing for Bologna, has caught the attention of Manchester United, according to reports by Gianluca Di Marzio. The 23-year-old is enjoying a breakout tournament, showcasing his attacking prowess and scoring a stunning goal against hosts Germany in a 1-1 draw.
Reports indicate that United have initiated talks with Bologna regarding a potential deal. Notably, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, part-owner of Manchester United, is already familiar with Ndoye, having signed him for Nice from Lausanne Sport in Switzerland when both clubs were owned by Ratcliffe’s Ineos.
Ndoye’s performances have also attracted interest from other European giants, including Inter Milan, who are looking to bolster their squad with several players expected to leave this summer.
Though not a prolific goal scorer, Ndoye is valued for his direct, attacking style and versatility, capable of playing in various positions, including wing-back roles. Bologna acquired Ndoye from Basel for £7.6 million, and he is currently valued at around £12 million.
This could be a savvy move for Manchester United, who are aiming to manage spending in line with profit and sustainability regulations, thereby limiting Erik ten Hag’s options in the transfer market.
When asked about his future last week, Ndoye said, “Football moves very fast; one day you are high, and the next you are low. I want to continue playing like this and stay focused on the European Championship with Switzerland.”
