A man robbing 2 convenience stores is now arrested after police found car documents linking him to the crimes. The man was arrested at a local resort. The man robbed both convenience stores using a gun. He had applied with the bank to purchase a car but was denied a loan. A man had robbed a convenience store in the main city of Saraburi Province. The man was about 170 centimeters tall wearing a motorbike helmet, a shirt with the words “Safety first” printed on the back, sports pants, and flip flops. The man pointed his gun and threatened employees to hand over the cash. He then jumped on a motorbike with no license plate. Not long after another store was robbed near the Ban Nong Muang Intersection, both robberies took place on 31 August 2020.
Officials from the Saraburi City Police Station and Chaloem Phrakiat Police Station had a meeting on 2 September 2020. Security footage was collected from both locations. Police arrested Ay 42 years old from Ayutthaya Province. He was driving a Yamaha Fino with no license plate and had returned to his home in Ayutthaya after robbing both stores. He then switched to a Yamaha MSX with no license plate to escape. The robber checked into a resort in Saraburi Province where officials arrested the man. Police Colonel Pisanu Wittyaporn stated that both police stations worked together in solving the case. They found out where he was headed from the security footage. Officials went to a motorbike shop in Tha Ruea District, Ayutthaya to ask if anyone in the shop recognized the suspect. Turns out one of the employees remembered the man. Ay had applied to buy a motorbike at the shop but after he was denied Ay left behind photocopies of his ID and home documents at the motorbike shop.
Police found that he switched vehicles and traveled into Muak Lek District, Saraburi to a resort where the suspect was hiding. Police waited until 16.00 and arrested the man. Ay admitted at the time of arrest that he robbed both convenience stores. Police also found evidence including the Yamaha MSX, a BB gun model 357, the motorbike helmet, a motorbike license plate, and the clothes used in the robberies. When asked why he committed the robberies Ay simply stated that he needed some money. The suspect is now at the police station waiting for prosecution.
