A 34-year-old Thai man has been arrested in connection with a violent incident involving a grocery store owner and his associates that resulted in four injuries in Pattaya last month. The arrest took place by Nongprue police, following a warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court. Mr. Nirutti Boonsang faces charges of “assaulting another person with a weapon, causing bodily harm, and jointly assaulting another person with a weapon, leading to serious injury.”
Mr. Nirutti was taken into custody at his home on Soi Mab Song in Pattaya. The attack occurred in the early hours of September 1, when a group of over ten teenagers assaulted the grocery store owner and his younger associates. Surveillance footage captured the incident, revealing Mr. Nirutti as the leader of the group. During questioning, he allegedly admitted to the attack, claiming he was provoked by the victim before the confrontation.
He also stated that he was not trying to evade the police, but was looking for a way to resolve the situation, as all of his younger accomplices had already been arrested.
According to Nongprue police, seven suspects have surrendered, while Mr. Nirutti and one other individual remain at large. The investigation is ongoing to apprehend the last suspect.
