Yesterday evening, Pattaya police officials carried out a check at the upscale karaoke club Tomorrow Land Club on Pattaya Third Road. The check was done in order to stop crimes, especially ones involving foreigners.
The establishment is well renowned for drawing a sizable number of foreign visitors, particularly Chinese citizens.
A total of 50 officials, including immigration officers, tourist police, and Chonburi Deputy Commander Colonel Patikorn Sornchai as well as Pattaya City Police Chief Colonel Tahanapong Poethi, participated in the inspection. In one of the opulent karaoke rooms, they looked at the passports of Chinese patrons to make sure they weren’t overstaying their visas.
Additionally, employees and clients were subjected to drug tests; nobody tested positive for illicit drugs.
The goal of the inspection is to stop crimes committed by both Thai citizens and foreigners. Please alert the authorities if any unusual activity is observed by business owners.
Less than a day had passed since a similar karaoke raid in Bangkok when this raid took place. When asked if the Pattaya karaoke venue inspection was connected to the Bangkok raids, Pattaya police declined to comment. They did, however, reaffirm that club inspections would go on.
