Loan sharks in Pattaya turn themselves in after threatening reporter

In Pattaya, there has been another incident involving loan sharks.

Two loan shark gang members who threatened a freelance journalist earlier this week in Pattaya turned themselves in to the police.

The confrontation started when Buronsak Bunnodyom, a local Thai reporter, urged the two guys to stop throwing loan fliers in front of his home on Soi 9 in Central Pattaya’s Bang Lamung District.

The two males, Chinnawat Posingarm, 23, and Natthiwut Sudprasert, 20, retaliated by verbally abusing the reporter and attempting to hit him with a big rock.

Chinnawat and Natthiwut turned themselves in to the police yesterday as a result of the event. Natthiwut admitting to riding a motorcycle for Chinnawat, while Chinnawat acknowledged strewing loan fliers in front of people’s homes. The reporter videotaped the two as they allegedly threatened and assaulted him.

Regarding their motivation, the two men claimed it was an impulsive choice to pick up a rock and try to harm the reporter because he had warned them not to distribute fliers.

Since then, Chinnawat and Natthiwut have expressed regret for their egregious behavior. The two people are now accused with making threats against other people and breaking the Cleanliness Act.
