Last night, April 14, a male loan shark in Pattaya was stabbed during a confrontation with a debtor.
At about ten o’clock in the evening, the event happened close to the Rueangwilai condo in Pattaya’s Banglamung neighborhood. In response to a report of a violent altercation, police officers and Sawang Boriboon rescuers arrived and discovered a 33-year-old Thai man named Mr. Sarawut Kamsaiprom laying in agony at the front of the flat.
The man’s left ribs had been severely stabbed, and there was significant bleeding. He was taken right away to the neighborhood hospital. Authorities in Pattaya discovered a kitchen knife at the scene that was smeared in blood and preserved it as proof.
After speaking with the suspect’s wife, Ms. Nasrikan Mustapa, 29, they discovered that Mr. Abdul Raqibkhan Weeto, 30, had left the scene on a bicycle. The wife claimed that Sarawut, the victim, was a loan shark. He knocked on the door and reportedly yelled threats that he would bring his cronies to beat her husband up and even kill him in the head if he did not clear his debt, the amount of which was not made public.
He was there to collect a debt from her husband, Abdul. The debt collector, however, fled since Mr. Abdul did not open the door. Then Sarawut came back again, knocked on the door once again, and yelled. Mr. Abdul finally gave up and opened the door to the loan shark. As a result of their arguments and subsequent fight, Mr. Abdul is supposed to have stabbed Sarawut in the ribs out of what Abdul’s wife said was self defense.
The Pattaya News was informed by an unidentified eyewitness that he saw Mr. Abdul speed off on a Honda Wave motorcycle. In order to identify the offender, Pattaya Police are looking over CCTV footage.
