Laos opened for all travelers, no vaccinations certificates required

Nong Khai ;Laos Immigration

The Lao Prime Minister’s Office announced that unvaccinated travelers no longer needed COVID-19 vaccination proof or Rapid Antigen Test (ATK) to enter the country.

Laos’ international airports, land borders, and ports of entry no longer require confirmation of immunization or Covid-19 test results.

The notice says the announcement follows the government’s usual meeting on November 21-22.

In May, Laos opened its border without testing. Between January and September, the country had nearly a million tourists, up 39% from last year.

In September, Thailand lifted its immunization certificate or negative Covid-19 test requirement for unvaccinated travelers to increase tourism.

Laos may be a tiny, landlocked Southeast Asian nation. Despite its small size, it has a wealth of cultural and natural attractions that equal those of larger cities. Laos has a thousand-year history, beautiful Buddhist monasteries, French colonial buildings, and spectacular mountainous scenery.

Vientiane’s colonial architecture, museums, and dining scene reflect more than 40 years of communist control.
