A Korean man in Pattaya City threatened to jump from an 8-story luxury condominium building on Sunday. The police, along with disaster relief and rescue units, were called to the scene. The man was on the 8th floor balcony, holding a fruit-peeling knife, and causing disturbance.
He scattered over 100,000 baht of banknotes on the floor below. After an hour, he went back inside and opened the door to talk with the police. He claimed that his Thai girlfriend had duped him and that he had been in distress for the past few days. The police took him to a hospital and contacted his relatives in South Korea to resolve the situation.
