Israeli Tourist Reportedly Abandoned and Robbed

An 81-year-old Israeli tourist claimed he was abandoned and robbed by a motorcycle taxi driver in Sattahip, Chonburi, on May 13th. The incident took place around 6:00 PM. The victim, Mr. Albert Mahlev, was found sitting alone at a store by the side of Sukhumvit Road in the Sattahip district.

Local reports indicate that Mr. Albert had been traveling from Pattaya to Sattahip for sightseeing. He hired a motorcycle taxi from Soi Buakhao in Pattaya. The driver took him to an intersection on Sukhumvit Road in Sattahip, where he allegedly abandoned Mr. Albert and stole his mobile phone. Left stranded, Mr. Albert waited at a roadside store for assistance.

Concerned citizens contacted the Sattahip Police Station, and Tourist Police officers from Pattaya and Sattahip responded to the scene. They took Mr. Albert to the police station for further questioning. Pol. Lt. Abhisit Phuengyam, Deputy Inspector of the Sattahip Police Station, stated that Mr. Albert was initially unable to provide much information due to language barriers. Authorities are working to find an interpreter to gather more details from him.
