An Iranian man and his Thai wife were discovered murdered at their restaurant in Pattaya on Tuesday, with a missing Myanmar employee emerging as the prime suspect.
Pattaya police responded to a call around noon regarding the locked Banoo Iranian Restaurant in South Pattaya, which had been closed since last week. The owners had not been seen during this time.
Inside, they found the bodies of 64-year-old Mojtaba Ghanbariazad and 49-year-old Thanaporn Poonprakhon in a second-floor bedroom of the three-story building. A friend of the couple, 27-year-old Kritporn Ajinkit, informed the police that the couple had a heated argument with their Myanmar employee the previous Thursday, after which the employee rode off on their motorcycle and did not return.
A neighbor named Pan noted that the restaurant had been closed since last Thursday. On Tuesday morning, a relative of Thanaporn arrived, found the restaurant locked, and called the police for assistance.
The relative mentioned that Thanaporn had appeared in her dream, saying she couldn’t get out of the restaurant, prompting her to ask the police to investigate. Upon entering, the police found the two bodies.
Mr. Pan added that the missing employee had reportedly been beaten for not performing his duties correctly. The police have identified the suspect as 21-year-old Min but have not yet disclosed details regarding the nature of the murders. A hammer was discovered in the bedroom.
