For the upkeep and rehabilitation of Bali Hai Pier, Pattaya plans to spend 30 million baht.
On May 3, Mayor Poramet Ngampichet stated that the Bali Hai bridge, which connects the piers to the mainland, was once again collapsing and required foundational repairs. Although it has a new deck in 2017, the bridge’s last significant maintenance was in 2015.
Poramet also recommended that a roof be constructed over the bridge area to protect visitors from the sun and rain.
For maintenance on Bali Hai, Pattaya now has roughly 20 million baht available. Poramet stated that the municipal council will be asked to appropriate the difference because its repairs and renovations will cost $30 million.
