The head of the Thai Hotels Association Eastern Region believes that the tourism trade will start to get back to normal in June even though the pandemic continues to wage war around the world.
He firmly believes that the government will cancel the emergency decree on June 1st and reopen the doors for Thai domestic tourists to start returning to Pattaya, however, he believes that foreign tourists will not come back till at least the end of the year.
But even if the doors do reopen for tourists, it will still take a long time to get back to normal as all the hotels are now closed and will take some time to bring back staff that have been laid off due to the virus.
THA-ER President Pisut Ku has also said that he knows the salaries and working hours will not be the same and that hotels will try to win tourists back by marketing their health and safety regarding social distancing measures
