Handcuffs & Cake to Drug Bust

When police apprehended a lady after discovering about a million speed pills in her residence, they brought more than just handcuffs. They delivered a cake after realizing it was her birthday.

The act brought 37-year-old Ratchanon Phongsawat to tears, and he pledged to start afresh after being freed from prison.

In the southern province, where she was arrested, more than 1.4 million methamphetamine pills were found.

Ms. Ratchanon, who also operates a spa in the Phrommakhiri district, has been under police surveillance since they believe she may be connected to narcotics dealers.

They were able to stop her car on a route that led to the airport in Nakhon Si Thammarat on Thursday by following it.

After that, they took her to her leased house in Muang district, where, according to police during a Friday media briefing, they discovered 944,000 speed pills.

Under interrogation, Ms. Ratchanon acknowledged that she had learned about the arrests of other members of a narcotics network in Phuket, Surat Thani, and Nakhon Si Thammarat and that she was going to take a plane to Bangkok to be with her mother.

According to investigators, the suspect acknowledged holding the drugs at the rental home while they were being delivered to other dealers.

Meanwhile, 536,000 speed pills were discovered inside Prachak Suksarn’s home in the Khanom area on the same day that police apprehended him.
