A foreign man in Pattaya allegedly assaulted a Kuwaiti tourist, leaving him unconscious. Police are actively searching for the suspect as of press time. The incident occurred in South Pattaya on Soi Yensabai. Eyewitness Mr. Sompong Rueangkham, a 43-year-old chicken rice vendor, informed The Pattaya News that he saw a foreign man violently attacking a Kuwaiti tourist. The assailant was acting aggressively and revving his car engine, causing fear among nearby people.
Mr. Sompong recounted seeing the unidentified foreigner, believed to be of Middle Eastern descent, arrive at the scene in a black Pajero with several companions. A confrontation with the Kuwaiti tourist quickly escalated into a brawl, resulting in the tourist being knocked unconscious. Mr. Sompong mentioned that a woman was also involved in the altercation.
Mr. Sompong showed a video clip of the attack to The Pattaya News team. The video depicted both parties struggling over a Thai woman before engaging in a fistfight. The perpetrator placed the victim in a chokehold and repeatedly punched him until he lost consciousness and collapsed. When a bystander attempted to intervene, the perpetrator pushed them away, preventing anyone from helping the Kuwaiti tourist. The injured man eventually regained consciousness and ran away, but the assailant pursued him, accompanied by about ten companions. The perpetrator was also filmed driving a black Chevrolet Optra with no rear license plate. He rolled down the window, made threatening gestures towards Mr. Sompong and his wife, and loudly revved his engine.
The injured Kuwaiti tourist filed a police report at the Pattaya Police Station. Police revealed that the victim sustained facial injuries but withheld his name. He was sent to the hospital for treatment and will be summoned for further questioning. Investigators are currently gathering evidence from witnesses and CCTV footage to apprehend the foreign suspect.
