After its first meeting, the Cabinet decided to reduce the cost of electricity from Bt4.45 to Bt4.10 per unit, effective with the September billing cycle. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin announced the decision to the media.
The cabinet also resolved to lower the cost of diesel at the pump to less than Bt30 per litre, starting on September 20. No information was provided regarding how the government will finance these price cuts or how long they will last.
