Dutch father and son perish in a vehicle accident

After their pickup vehicle struck a concrete wall, causing a tremendous explosion and the front wheel to come off, a Dutch father and son sadly perished. Around 10.30 am today, on the Friendship Highway in Nakhon Ratchasima, this incidence took place.

The Pak Chong district’s Central Forest Police Station’s Auychai Phromwong was the first to attend to the situation.

When the police arrived on the scene, they discovered a white MG Extender pickup truck with the registration number “967 Udon Thani” wedged between kilometers 41 and 42 of the Friendship Highway and a concrete barrier.
The car’s front right side was heavily dented, and the right front wheel was missing. According to the preliminary inquiry, the front passenger and the driver, who were both foreigners, were both pronounced dead at the site, according to KhaoSod.
Frederik Jensen, 79, was the deceased driver, while his son, 49-year-old Frederik Dadelijk Jensen, was the deceased passenger.

Bekker Gerit Jan, age 70, a third passenger, suffered minor injuries but objected to being transported to the hospital. The three men, who were all from the Netherlands, had all spent more than 20 years residing in the province of Udon Thani. At the time of the incident, they were traveling back from a business trip in Bangkok.

Officer Auychai stated that witnesses believed the driver may have passed out while operating the vehicle, leading it to swerve off course and crash into the concrete barrier by the roadside.

The impact caused a loud explosion and the reported casualties since it was so violent. This sad accident is still under investigation
