In Pattaya Beach city, a 49-year-old man from the Czech Republic was discovered deceased in what appears to be a case of suicide. Police and emergency responders were summoned to an apartment in tambon Nong Phreu, located within the Bang Lamung district, following a report on a Thursday evening. The man, whose identity has been protected until his family is notified, was found hanging from a nylon rope tied to a beam in a storage area on the rooftop of a five-story building. Law enforcement officials surmised that the man had passed away at least three days before his body was found, as there were no visible signs of injury on his body.
Sirinna, a 35-year-old woman known as the apartment’s caretaker, disclosed to the authorities that the man was a visitor who had checked in on February 28 and was last seen on March 2. The discovery was made after she detected a strange smell emanating from the storage room on Thursday evening. Upon investigation, she was startled to find the man hanging and promptly notified the police.
Although investigations are ongoing, law enforcement officers examining the scene suspect that the tourist took his own life. However, the motive behind his actions remains unclear. The body has been transferred to Police General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
