Conor McGregor’s Social Media Hints at Potential Career Shift

Conor McGregor's Social Media Hints at Potential Career Shift

Conor McGregor has again made headlines with cryptic social media posts that suggest he may be transitioning to a different league. Although McGregor is contractually obligated to compete in two more fights for the UFC, he has shown little intention of doing so in the near future. While 2024 seemed like a prime opportunity for his highly anticipated comeback, 2025 appears less promising for the fighter. The lack of recorded drug tests and Dana White’s unusual silence add to the speculation about significant developments on the horizon.

McGregor’s recent hints regarding his UFC career have sparked excitement and concern among fans. Reportedly, he was scheduled for eleven drug tests in the past year, similar to fellow fighter Arman Tsarukyan, yet he has not submitted a single sample. Despite his laid-back approach delaying his UFC return, McGregor’s desire to fight hasn’t diminished. After withdrawing from a matchup with Michael Chandler at UFC 303 due to injury, he has focused on other endeavors, particularly his promotional work with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC).

In a recent post on social media, McGregor captioned a reuploaded video with “I’m pump action,” triggering buzz among fans curious about his intentions. Amid continuous inquiries about his return, McGregor emphasized his commitment to fighting in the BKFC, stating, “If you think I’m up here giving these speeches and leading these men into battle and I won’t step in there myself, think again. For sure, Conor McGregor will fight in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Mark my words.”

Following his expression of interest in returning to the sport, McGregor shared footage of intense training sessions, which hinted at a shift toward BKFC that many did not anticipate. Dana White’s silence on the matter has led to further speculation, as the UFC president has been eager to bring back his biggest star. There is potential for collaboration between the UFC and BKFC to facilitate McGregor’s return.

Adding to the discussion, former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub mentioned, “There is something at stake. I think the UFC will probably be willing to collaborate in that regard because they work with Bare Knuckle. And Conor is a minority owner, so there might be something there to bring him back.”

While details about McGregor’s future remain unclear, the prospect of his return to combat sports appears increasingly likely.
