Passengers Advised to Arrive Early Due to Don Mueang Airport Disruptions
Travelers flying out of Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport this week are being warned of potential disruptions on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday (March 5, 7, and 8) due to a Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) air show.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) and Nok Air have urged passengers to check in at least three hours before their departure on these affected days. The RTAF will celebrate its 88th anniversary with an air show on Friday and Saturday, and rehearsals are scheduled for Wednesday. This will result in temporary airspace closures, which could lead to flight delays.
CAAT has encouraged passengers to stay updated with any announcements from their airlines. In case of changes to flight schedules, passengers are advised to contact airlines to arrange rescheduling.
In response to possible delays, CAAT has instructed airlines to provide timely notifications of flight changes, assist with rebooking, and ensure adequate care for passengers during delays. The authority also recommended that destination airports extend their operating hours to help reduce passenger congestion.
Nok Air has specifically advised travelers to confirm flight details in advance and to arrive at Don Mueang Airport early, at least three hours before their scheduled departure. Passengers can lodge complaints through the CAAT website at complaint.caat.or.th if necessary.
