Pattaya Police were running a routine checkpoint in the small hours of this morning, April 2nd when they arrested a suspicious motorcyclist with crystal methamphetamine and speed pills.

The checkpoint was set up on Beach Road in front of the Pattaya Police Station and was aimed at searching for drugs, weapons, and other illegal items, as well as conducting alcohol testing.

Police were equipped with body cameras when they asked to search a suspicious Thai man, Mr. Suthiporn Pheum, 30, who rode a red Honda Wave 100 motorbike with no license plates into the checkpoint. Upon searching the man’s dark backpack, police found 4.89 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 10 speed pills inside the bag.

Suthiporn was arrested and transported to a police station. He later admitted that he had purchased the drugs from a dealer in Pattaya, with the crystal meth costing 2,300 baht and each speed pill costing 50 baht.

Suthiporn is undergoing legal proceedings and Pattaya police are attempting to locate the drug dealer who Suthiporn purchased the illegal drugs from.
