Champions League Summary – Night of Late Goals

At the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, Atlético de Madrid would have been happy to have kept Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo at bay. They also have the comfort of a two-goal lead to take to Turin’s Allianz Stadium next month.

Pattaya One. Altetico Madrid shock Juventus.

Meanwhile, Manchester City, 2-1 down at half-time and down to ten men in 68 minutes, stormed back to win 3-2 away to Schalke O4. Substitute Leroy Sané equalised with a stunning 25 yard free kick on 85 minutes and Raheem Sterling followed that up with a 90th minute winner.

Pattaya One. City celebrate at the end of the game.

Championship Summary

Two sides, who experienced different kinds of FA Cup 5th round emotions, met at Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium and Millwall kept up their good feel factor. Whilst Derby were beaten 2-1 at Brighton Millwall just needed one goal to see off AFC Wimbledon.

The goal at Wimbledon came after five minutes Murray Wallace. Last night his namesake Jed scored the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute.

Blow For Derby Promotion Hopes

Derby are now back in 7th place and their hopes of an automatic return to the Premier League as a top two team are fading fast. They need to find some form to challenge for a play-off place. Three points were much needed for Millwall and their quest to beat relegation. But they are now five points in front of third from bottom Rotherham with a game in hand.
