Car falls 200 meters into abyss with 3 passengers only slightly injured

A tourist vehicle fell into an abyss that is over 200 meters deep, the driver and 2 passengers inside were only slightly injured. You may call it a miracle as the tourists have survived after falling into an abyss near the Phu Thap Boek Mountain in Phetchabun Province. The incident took place on 2 November 2020 when the local Sawang Mongkol Sattharam Rescue Team received notification of a road accident at Rai Rim Pha Viewpoint. The mountain is a popular tourist attraction in Thailand 1,768 meters high. The driver and passengers were local tourists on their way to see the view of the famous mountain when an accident took place and the car fell into a 200-meter deep abyss. The team had great difficulty rescuing the tourists as the abyss was very deep and all passengers were stuck inside the car. There was thick fog and it was absolutely dark inside the abyss at the time of the rescue.

Villagers and rescue team members finally pulled all 3 tourists out of the vehicle. They came out of the car safely, locals were amazed as the abyss was extremely deep and dark. All were only slightly injured, 2 were delivered to the Lomkao Crown prince Hospital. The other tourist stated he did not want to be delivered to the hospital because the injury was not serious and did not require medical attention. The tourists, 2 men, and a woman were driving to Phu Thap Boek Mountain in Phetchabun from Nakhon Pathom Province. The group was in a Ford truck with a Bangkok license plate 6 กอ 5965.

They were about to drive into a resort located near the Viewpoint. While the truck was going down a hill something was wrong with the car brake and the vehicle couldn’t stop. The truck started rolling down the hill into the abyss. It also ran into a home, destroying the bathroom on its way down the abyss. The tourists don’t think they would come out of the incident in such good shape. Phu Thap Boek is the highest point of all Phetchabun mountains. The peak is located 12km from Highway 203 near Loei Province. Surrounding the mountain is Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park overlapping Phitsanulok Province and Phetchabun Province.
