Police are hunting for two men who stole Bt7 million from an armoured car at a shopping centre in Bangkok’s Nong Khaem district on Saturday evening.
“Fingerprints from the scene and recordings from security cameras along the route the suspects used are being checked,” Royal Thai Police deputy spokesman Pol Colonel Krissana Pattanacharoen said on Sunday.
One of the robbers fired a gun into the air to threaten the two Brinks employees and was given a bag containing more than Bt7.2 million in cash that had just been collected from a branch of SCB at the Big C Extra on Phetkasem Road.
“They fled on a black motorcycle,” Krissana said.
National Police Commissioner Pol General Chakthip Chaijinda instructed investigators to find the thieves promptly to reassure the public.
“If you have any tips,” Krissana urged citizens, “please call 1599 or 02 581 0020 anytime of day.”
