Fishermen found a body, believed to be one of two missing Filipinos, in an area adjoining Krabi province on Sunday, said governor Supot Rodruang Na Nongkhai. The body of the body of the other was found on Friday.
Mr Supot said the body has been brought to the Chalong bay boat pier and would be sent to Vajira Phuket Hospital for a post mortem examination and identification.
The body was believed to be that of Angelo Bien Rafael Cortez as his appearance matched with the description given earlier by his father, particularly the tattoo.
On July 17 evening, four Philippine tourists went missing from Freedom Beach. They were with a group of 13 Philippine men who went swimming at the beach that day.
Two of them – John Tanghal, 30, and Jose Tanghal, 51 – were later found, while Angelo Cortez, 29, and Noah Bay, 40, remained missing.
The body of Noah Bay was found on Friday.
Mr Supot said the Philippine consul-general and relatives of the two tourists whose bodies have been recovered would be contacted so that death certificates can be issued and the bodies can be brought back to the Philippines for religious rites.
