Couple Files Police Report After Late-Night Assault on Beach Road
Pattaya police are investigating an altercation on Beach Road near Walking Street in South Pattaya that left a 24-year-old Chinese man, identified as Mr. Zhang, injured after being stabbed with a key. The incident occurred at 2:05 AM on January 20.
Ms. A (pseudonym), a 35-year-old Thai woman, and Mr. Zhang filed a complaint at Pattaya City Police Station, accusing a Thai-Chinese man of initiating the attack.
Incident Details
According to Ms. A, the trouble began when the suspect made lewd remarks in Chinese toward Mr. Zhang, which upset him. Mr. Zhang confronted the man, asking, “What does that have to do with you?” The situation escalated into a heated argument.
The confrontation turned violent when the suspect stabbed Mr. Zhang in the right arm with a key before fleeing the scene.
Ongoing Investigation
Police are currently reviewing security footage and conducting interviews to identify and locate the perpetrator. Authorities are urging any witnesses to come forward to assist with the investigation.
No arrests have been made at this time, and the suspect’s motive remains under scrutiny. Meanwhile, Mr. Zhang received medical attention for his injury, and officials are working to ensure the safety of residents and tourists in the area.
