On February 8th, 2024, in Pattaya, a 45-year-old beach umbrella and chair rental provider, known by his nickname Mr. Tum, was apprehended on suspicion of child sexual abuse. The arrest followed a warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court, and Mr. Tum was taken into police custody.

Allegations stated that Mr. Tum sexually abused a 7-year-old Thai-German girl at a condominium in Soi Thepprasit 17, Jomtien. Mr. Tum, residing in Surin province, northeastern Thailand, denied the accusation during questioning, claiming that he had only given his phone to the child to play with. However, his account conflicted with the victim’s and witness’ testimonies, resulting in his arrest.

Although maintaining his innocence, Mr. Tum expressed a desire to apologize to the victim and her parents.
