Stolen goods worth about 10 million baht were recovered when police arrested a suspected house burglar at his condominium room on Monday night.
Pol Col Mongkol Onkaew, Bang Kaew police superintendent, said Bualuang Wangkhiri, 48, was arrested at his rented room in a condominium building in Soi Udomsuk in Bangkok.
He was wanted under a warrant issued by the Samut Prakan Court for a string of thefts.
Stolen goods found in his room included 40-baht weight of gold bullion, luxury watches, gold necklaces, jewellery and old banknotes, worth about 10 million baht in total.
Also found in his possession were handwritten notes with detailed information about houses allegedly targeted for burglary, with maps of their locations.
The houses included those of government officials and police. One was of a former chief of the Royal Thai Police.
Bualuang had previously served a prison sentence for theft.
He allegedly confessed that while serving the sentence he obtained detailed information about the target houses from fellow inmates who had worked at those places.
Pol Col Mongkol said people who had been burgled could examine the seized goods at Bang Kaew police station, and maybe identify and lay claim to them.
