Beginning next month, the majority of foreign visitors departing the country will be able to use automated routes to board planes more swiftly and ease traffic at Suvarnabhumi airport.
Only travelers with passports from Thailand, Hong Kong, or Singapore are presently eligible for automatic processing at Suvarnabhumi, according to Pol Maj Gen Choengron Rimphadee, head of Immigration Division 2.
Beginning on December 15, he added, the Immigration Bureau would be enhancing its computer programming and revising rules to allow other foreign nationals leaving the country to utilize automated channels as well.
He anticipated that this would result in a 12,000-per-hour rise in the number of outgoing travelers processed at Suvarnabhumi airport.
Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports will see the installation of additional automated lanes, according to Pol Maj Gen Choengron of Airports of Thailand. The processing of incoming travelers could then be expedited by reassigning immigration officials.
