The Airports of Thailand (AOT) and Thailand Post have collaborated to provide Automated Postal Machines (APM) in seven more airports nationwide.
The AOT signed an MoU with Thailand Post to facilitate air passengers to send items prohibited on board by post to their destination, inside and outside of the country. The seven airports where APMs will be set up are Krabi, Udon Thani, Surat Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Khon Kaen and Mae Sot Airports. The APMs at these airports will start providing the service this month.
The fee for each item is 50 baht for domestic destinations. The AOT and Thailand Post plan to install the machines at all 28 airports in the country within the year.
An APM at Suvarnabhumi Airport has been used more than 2,200 times since May last year. NT – EP
