Banglamung Police Arrest Two Men with 2.7 Kilograms of Drugs
Banglamung police have arrested two Thai men following a tip-off from concerned citizens regarding a planned drug delivery to local pool villa parties. The suspects, identified as Mr. Aree Watanasuksawat, 29, and Mr. Supap Phahonpaet, 29, were apprehended on suspicions of delivering a significant quantity of illegal drugs in the Banglamung area. Authorities seized 990 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 1,770 grams of ketamine, totaling 2.76 kilograms.
Officers conducted a stakeout at a rental room, waiting for the suspects to arrive. Once confirmed, they moved in to make the arrests, finding the drugs concealed in a black bag.
During questioning, the suspects claimed they were hired by a man named “Per” for 70,000 baht each to deliver the drugs. They stated that the drugs belonged to Per but admitted they did not know his full name or how to contact him.
Initially, the police charged the two men with possession of Category 1 drugs with intent to distribute. They, along with the seized evidence, were handed over to investigators for further legal action.
