Supporters gathered at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport on Saturday to send Anna Sueangam-iam to the US to compete for Miss Universe.
New Orleans in the USA hosts the 71st Miss Universe 2022 competition on January 14-15.
Miss Universe Thailand’s copyright owner, TPN Global, accompanied the beauty queen and her 12 bags.
On July 30, actress and model Anna, 24, won Miss Universe Thailand 2022. She placed in the Top 16 at Miss Thailand 2020 in Chiang Mai.
She won the Miss Thailand Universe 2022 competition despite her parents being Bangkok trash collectors.
Thailand’s Miss Universe representative is a 23-year-old Kasetsart University honors graduate.
Anna thought her tale might inspire those who feel less fortunate. She encouraged hope. She advised to dream and pursue it. Studying is essential.
“Depression affects many. We must learn from our problems to survive. I encourage you to fight again with confidence. I can, you can.”
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt welcomed participants at City Hall and dubbed Anna a proud child of the capital.
“I would want to congratulate all, especially Ms. Anna, who is a child of Bangkok as her father has worked for the city for 32 years,” the Governor remarked.
“Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Sueangam-iam, for working hard all your life for Bangkok and raising such a great child. “Her success makes us proud,” Chadchart said.
