A key road linking the provinces of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai was flooded early Wednesday (July 8) due to overnight rain, though provincial administration officials insisted they would be able to clear the road by noon.
Also, to prevent traffic jams and accidents, officials began redirecting traffic and advising motorists to take alternative routes.
Though the flood was cleared by 8am, drivers were advised to be careful because the rain had not stopped.
Chiang Mai’s deputy governor Komsan Suwan-ampa officials are monitoring the weather constantly as rain clouds were still darkening the sky.
